Bharat Forge Ltd has entered a new phase of collaboration with Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY), with the signing of an agreement to manufacture fan blades for the Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. This development marks a significant step in Rolls-Royce’s efforts to strengthen its industrial footprint in India and to expand its global supply chain through trusted local partnerships.
The agreement was formalised at Rolls-Royce’s Dahlewitz facility near Berlin, underscoring the long-standing relationship between the two companies. Bharat Forge has been a reliable supplier of high-precision aerospace components and this new contract highlights the company’s growing role in advanced engine manufacturing.
“We’re pleased to build further on our collaboration with Bharat Forge in support of the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” said Sashi Mukundan, Executive Vice President – Transformation, Rolls-Royce India. “This agreement reinforces our strategy to develop cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities within India and to contribute to the global aerospace ecosystem.”
Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, added, “Our continued work with Rolls-Royce reflects a shared vision of technical excellence and deep collaboration. Being part of the Pearl engine programme is an honour, and we look forward to supporting the next generation of business aviation.”
Bharat Forge began supplying machined components for the Pearl 700 engine programme in 2020 and delivered its first zero-defect fan blade in 2024. With the newly signed agreement, the company will now also provide fan blades for the Pearl 10X engine – the most advanced and powerful member of the Pearl family to date.
The Pearl 10X features Rolls-Royce’s Advance2 engine core and a high-performance low-pressure system, offering more than 18,000 pounds of thrust. It powers some of the largest and longest-range business jets in operation, and this expansion of Bharat Forge’s role signifies a major contribution to the global aviation industry.
This partnership highlights Bharat Forge’s growing capabilities in high-precision aerospace manufacturing. It is currently the only company in India producing this level of advanced fan blade technology for the Pearl series. The company remains committed to investing in next-generation manufacturing technologies and forging long-term alliances with top-tier aerospace OEMs and suppliers.
