Bharat Forge reported a 63% year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to ₹284 crore for the quarter ended June, up from ₹174 crore during the same period last year. The company, however, expressed caution regarding its US export business outlook due to recent tariff changes and regulatory developments in North America. While profit rose, the company’s total income dipped to ₹3,958 crore for Q1 FY26, compared to ₹4,158 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, as per its regulatory disclosure.
Chairman and Managing Director Baba Kalyani said, “The recent tariff measures by the US and evolving emission regulations have led us to adopt a cautious view of our export prospects in that market. FY26 could present challenges given our position in the business cycle and the geographical concentration of some segments.”
Despite external headwinds, Bharat Forge secured new business worth ₹847 crore in the quarter, including ₹269 crore from the defence sector. The company’s defence order book now stands at ₹9,463 crore, and it anticipates further wins during the year based on its ongoing project engagements.
Mr Kalyani added that the company’s operations in the US and Europe showed improved financial performance in the April–June quarter and are now generating positive cash flow. He also confirmed that the review of the European steel manufacturing business is progressing well, with decisive action expected before year-end.
