Bharat Forge Limited’s Aerospace Division has secured defence contracts valued at approximately ₹300 crore under the Government of India’s Emergency Procurement–VI (EP-VI) programme. The orders, placed by the Indian Army with end use by both the Army and the Indian Navy, cover a range of domestically developed unmanned platforms.
The contracts include Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and loitering munitions designed to meet urgent operational needs across varied terrain and mission conditions. The platforms inducted under the programme—Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet and Cleaver—have been developed in India with a focus on operational readiness and rapid deployment.
A key highlight of this milestone was the public display of the Omega One system during the Army Day Parade held in Jaipur on 15 January. The system was showcased mounted on an upgraded BMP-2 infantry combat vehicle, reflecting its operational integration and drawing attention from senior defence leadership.
These inductions reinforce Bharat Forge’s focus on indigenous defence manufacturing in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The programmes are supported by expanded domestic production capabilities, enabling accelerated delivery schedules while maintaining stringent quality and reliability standards.
Bharat Forge’s unmanned systems portfolio continues to expand, with increasing integration of autonomous functions, artificial intelligence and data-driven operational features. These capabilities enhance endurance, accuracy, survivability and flexibility in complex and contested environments.
Commenting on the achievement, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Bharat Forge Limited, said, “Securing EP-VI contracts and the operational showcase of Omega One at Army Day reflect our commitment to building capable, India-specific defence solutions. We are proud to support the Armed Forces with indigenous unmanned systems designed to operate reliably in electronic warfare environments.”
With continued investment in design, manufacturing and advanced autonomy technologies, Bharat Forge is strengthening its position in India’s unmanned and autonomous defence ecosystem, supporting the Armed Forces with operationally relevant and future-ready capabilities.
