On Tuesday, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a government-owned company, announced that it secured contracts totaling Rs 847.84 crore. These orders encompass a project granted by the finance ministry.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance, has awarded a contract valued at Rs 665.84 crore (excluding taxes) to the company. The contract pertains to the implementation and management of IT infrastructure.
The project entails the provision, installation, and ongoing maintenance of IT and networking infrastructure, along with field IT support and centralized management and monitoring, as stated in a filing to BSE by BEL. The maintenance support, spanning five years, includes coverage during the implementation period.
In accordance with the announcement, BEL emerged victorious in securing one of the most substantial civilian contracts of the ongoing fiscal year following a rigorous and competitive procurement procedure.
In the ongoing fiscal year, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has not only secured orders totaling Rs 182 crore for miscellaneous spares and services but has also amassed a cumulative order value of Rs 28,494 crore. This reflects the continued trust and confidence placed in BEL’s capabilities and offerings, underscoring its prominent position in the market.
