The 27th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2024 was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah at Bangalore Palace, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar. Organized by the Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, and the Software Technology Parks of India, the event celebrates the theme “Technology Without Limits,” emphasizing innovation that transcends traditional boundaries to foster global collaboration and industrial advancement.
Inaugural Highlights
The ceremony included notable dignitaries such as Shri Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT, Bt, and Rural Development, Dr Anna Christmann from Germany, and Ms Alexandra Dublanche from France. Recognition was given to Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety for his entrepreneurial achievements and to Texas Instruments for four decades of contributions to Bengaluru’s tech ecosystem. The grand inauguration featured the Chief Minister cutting the ribbon alongside a jet suit demonstration by Gravity Industries, symbolizing futuristic innovation.

Nipuna Karnataka Initiative
The Nipuna Karnataka program aims to upskill 100,000 individuals in emerging technologies, equipping them to compete globally. Strategic MoUs with global giants such as Microsoft, Intel, Accenture, IBM, and the BFSI Consortium focus on training and placement across high-demand sectors like AI, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
AI Centre of Excellence
The state unveiled plans for a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, established in partnership with IIT Alumni Center Bangalore, to drive advanced research and innovation in AI startups. Designed to empower local startups, this platform offers resources like investor connections, mentorship, and prototype development facilities to nurture emerging businesses.
Global Partnerships and Strategic MoUs
The Bengaluru Tech Summit facilitated agreements with Switzerland, Finland, and Sharjah to enhance global cooperation. Australia, the official country partner, led discussions on digitalization and tech prosperity. Featured distinguished speakers such as Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Kris Gopalakrishnan, and Rishad Premji. Discussions spanned topics including AI for India, resilience in business, and the evolving semiconductor industry.
Exhibition and Networking Opportunities
With over 700 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors, the summit showcases themed pavilions in biotech, spacetech, mobility, and more. Specialized programs such as product launches and the BTS Innovation Dome provide a platform for groundbreaking solutions.
Under the Green BTS initiative, the summit emphasizes eco-friendly practices, carbon neutrality, and sustainable transportation for attendees. BTS 2024 promises over 85 sessions, 460+ speakers, and unparalleled opportunities for startups, corporates, and researchers to connect and innovate, reinforcing Karnataka’s leadership in the global tech landscape.
