BEML Secures ₹246.78 Crore Order from CCL for Mining Trucks

BEML, a leading manufacturer of heavy earthmoving equipment, has won an order worth ₹246.78 crore from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) for the supply of 48 rear dump trucks. The order also includes spares and after-sales service support, the company announced on November 20.

The BH60M Rear Dump Trucks, designed for demanding mining operations, feature a Cummins engine delivering 480 kW (644 FHP) at 2000 rpm and an advanced Allison transmission. With a payload capacity of 54,500 kg, these trucks are built for efficiency and durability in challenging conditions.

BEML’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shantanu Roy, stated, “This order reflects our strong partnership with Central Coalfields Limited and reaffirms our dedication to providing reliable and high-performance mining solutions.” The mining and construction segment accounted for 42% of BEML’s revenue in FY24, with the company anticipating sustained demand in this sector.

Boasting over 90% indigenization in most of its mining equipment, BEML significantly contributes to reducing India’s reliance on imports while bolstering domestic coal production. To strengthen its presence in the mining market, the company is focused on developing high-capacity products and exploring growth opportunities in regions such as the CIS countries, Africa, and Indonesia.

BEML’s shares have risen 29% year-to-date, supported by robust growth in mining and defense segments. The management has maintained a revenue growth target of approximately 20% for FY25, driven by increased execution in these key sectors. BEML Limited, formerly known as Bharat Earth Movers Limited, is a prominent public sector company under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
