BEML Limited (Bharat Earth Movers Limited), a leading Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, today announced that it has been awarded a ₹185.65 Crore contract by the Ministry of Defence for the supply of 79 units of its flagship Power Angling & Tilting (PAT) bulldozers. The Power Angling & Tilting (PAT) bulldozer represents BEML’s cutting-edge engineering tailored for military use. With robust design capabilities—including variable blade angling and tilting—it can adapt to rugged and snow-bound terrains, making it invaluable for national strategic operations.
This repeat order from the Ministry of Defence highlights its sustained confidence in it’s indigenous engineering expertise. It follows the earlier successful execution of a contract involving 66 PAT bulldozers, which were delivered on time and met rigorous quality standards. The continued partnership reflects BEML’s reliability and commitment to meeting the operational requirements of India’s defence forces.
The latest contract also reinforces the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative by promoting self-reliance in defence manufacturing. BEML’s PAT bulldozers are fully designed, developed, and produced in India, making them a key component in strengthening the country’s defence infrastructure. This initiative not only supports national security but also contributes significantly to the growth of the domestic manufacturing sector.
Engineered for versatility and resilience, the PAT bulldozers are tailored to handle the diverse and challenging needs of the Indian Armed Forces. Their robust design allows them to perform critical tasks such as road and airstrip construction, fortification of military posts, snow clearance, and logistics support in difficult terrains. This capability ensures that the forces remain operationally prepared in varied and extreme environments.
“We are honoured to receive this repeat order from the Ministry of Defence, which reflects the confidence in BEML’s capabilities and commitment to quality,” said Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML Ltd.
