In a major step towards advancing indigenous innovation and supporting India’s infrastructure growth, BEML Limited, a leading defence and heavy equipment manufacturer under the Ministry of Defence, has unveiled next-generation versions of its flagship construction equipment—the BE220G Hydraulic Excavator and the BL9H Backhoe Loader.

The newly upgraded models were officially launched by Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, during a virtual ceremony held at BEML’s Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) Complex. The event was attended by Sanjay Som, Director (Mining & Construction Business), along with senior leadership and technical teams.

These revamped machines are a result of BEML’s in-house R&D efforts and are designed to cater to the evolving demands of India’s fast-growing infrastructure, mining, and construction sectors. With improved performance, higher fuel efficiency, enhanced operator comfort, and simplified maintenance, the BE220G and BL9H set new benchmarks in productivity and reliability.

The newly launched models come equipped with advanced hydraulic systems that enable smoother operations and significantly improved digging efficiency. These enhancements make the machines ideal for high-performance tasks across construction, mining, and infrastructure projects, ensuring precision and productivity in challenging work environments.

To align with modern sustainability standards, both models feature fuel-efficient engines that meet the latest emission norms. This not only reduces the environmental footprint but also lowers operating costs, making them a cost-effective choice for long-term use in large-scale infrastructure development.

Additionally, the machines are designed with ergonomically optimized cabins that enhance operator comfort and visibility, promoting safety and ease of use. Their robust build and improved serviceability contribute to increased durability and reduced downtime, ensuring lower lifecycle costs and maximum uptime across a wide range of applications. These machines are not just upgrades—they are strategic enablers for next-gen infrastructure projects, embodying India’s vision for self-reliance and technological leadership in heavy engineering.
