BEML Limited has signed two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing its capabilities in the rail and dredging sectors. The first MoU, in collaboration with Siemens Limited India, will explore opportunities in the semi-high-speed and suburban passenger train segments, as well as metro and commuter rail markets. The second MoU, with Dragflow S.R.L. of Italy, focuses on strengthening BEML’s indigenous dredging solutions.
For the third quarter, BEML reported a decline in net profit, which nearly halved from the previous year to ₹24.4 crore, down from ₹48.2 crore in the same period last year. Revenue also saw a 16.3% drop, totaling ₹876 crore compared to ₹1,047 crore in the base quarter.
Despite the decline in revenue, BEML’s Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) increased by 8% to ₹60.6 crore. This improvement in profitability was supported by a reduction in other expenses and employee benefit costs, leading to an expansion in EBITDA margins to 7%, up from 5.4% in the previous year.
