Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading public sector defense enterprise, announced on Monday that it has secured new orders valued at Rs 561 crore, bringing its total order book for the fiscal year 2024-25 to Rs 10,362 crore. These orders encompass a wide range of defense and electronics equipment, including communication systems, electro-optics, satellite communication network upgrades, radar systems, fire control systems, and related spares and services.
Although BEL’s order intake has been steady, the company has achieved 41% of its target of Rs 25,000 crore for the current fiscal year, indicating a need for more order acquisitions in the last quarter to meet its annual goal. For the second quarter of FY25 (Q2FY25), BEL reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,450.9 crore, marking a year-on-year growth of 35.2%. However, total expenses for the quarter rose by 6.7% to Rs 3,299.4 crore. The company is expected to release its quarterly earnings by the end of January.
