Bansal Wire Industries, a leading domestic producer of stainless steel (SS) and galvanised iron (GI) wires, has officially opened its expanded SS wire manufacturing plant in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. With the recent expansion, the plant’s stainless steel wire production capacity has increased from 2.2 lakh metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 3.6 lakh MTPA. This makes it the largest SS wire manufacturing site in the country at a single location. The company has invested approximately ₹550 crore to support this capacity boost.

Commenting on the development, Pranav Bansal, Managing Director and CEO of Bansal Wire Industries, said the enhanced facility reflects the company’s broader objective to lead through innovation, sustainable practices, and advanced engineering in wire manufacturing.

The Dadri plant will soon be equipped with a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) centre aimed at driving innovation in high-performance wire products. This facility will enable the company to adopt processes like induction and oil tempering and support the production of specialised wires such as Low Relaxation Prestressed Concrete (LRPC) wires, used in structural reinforcement and Brass-Coated Reinforced Wires, applied in high-pressure rubber hose manufacturing. These wires are intended for sectors including automotive, construction, infrastructure, and engineering, with applications both in domestic and global markets.

The company plans another expansion phase at the Dadri facility, targeting a production capacity of 4.2 lakh MTPA by the first half of FY26. This next phase is expected to involve an additional investment of ₹70–80 crore, on top of the ₹550 crore already deployed.During the company’s Q3 FY25 earnings call, Mr. Bansal stated that the projected revenue at full capacity could reach around ₹3,500 crore. The decision to scale up stems from rising demand observed since August 2024.

Mr. Bansal noted that consolidating production in larger plants like Dadri delivers cost advantages over smaller, distributed units. He added that future investments will focus on building capacity at larger facilities to streamline operations and improve cost efficiency.Looking ahead, Bansal Wire aims to eventually scale up to a 6 lakh MTPA capacity at the Dadri site, although a specific timeline for this long-term goal has not yet been disclosed.

Founded in 1985, Bansal Wire Industries is one of India’s most prominent manufacturers in its sector. The company currently holds a 20% share of the domestic SS wire market and reported a turnover of ₹2,466.03 crore in FY24.
