AXISCADES Technologies Ltd. (ACTL), a prominent provider of technology solutions, has revealed a major restructuring initiative aimed at optimizing its Defence-focused subsidiaries, Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Mistral) and AXISCADES Aerospace Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (ACAT). This restructuring is set to capitalize on synergies across commercial and technological domains, enhance operational efficiencies, and accelerate growth within these key markets.
The restructuring process, which began in Q3 FY2025, will be completed by Q4 FY2025, and will align the company’s operations with global trends while delivering long-term value for its stakeholders. Since acquiring Mistral in 2022, ACTL has operated two Defence-focused subsidiaries: ACAT, a fully dedicated Defence company, and Mistral, which is 60% Defence and 40% Semiconductor-focused.
ACTL’s board has decided to integrate the operations of ACAT into Mistral in order to take advantage of commercial synergies, expand Mistral’s semiconductor business, and streamline operations for greater efficiency. ACAT will continue to exist for the time being to utilize its Defence Industrial License and vital OEM contracts, while gradually transitioning all operations under Mistral’s umbrella.
Following the restructuring, Mistral’s new vision will be to establish itself as a global leader in both Defence and AI-powered hypergrowth sectors. The company aims for a 60% focus on Defence and 40% on high-growth sectors, particularly those related to Mistral’s growing semiconductor capabilities.
Mistral’s Defence and Aerospace division will focus on increasing program numbers, revenue per program, and expanding its partnerships with DRDO, Defence PSUs, and Tier-1 suppliers. The company has already made significant strides in providing critical components such as Direction Finding systems, X-Band Radar, and anti-drone solutions to the Indian military.
Mistral will reposition itself as a “Chip to Product” (C2P) company, with a focus on providing integrated solutions in the semiconductor and AI-driven sectors. The company aims to address the gap between Silicon development and commercial product shipping, strengthening its platform expertise in hardware, software, and GenAI services.
Mistral will also focus on five verticals, including Defence and Aerospace, while expanding its capabilities in AI solutions for industries such as automotive, healthcare, and hyperscalers. Additionally, Mistral plans to provide GenAI enablement services to semiconductor and edge device manufacturers to support the growing adoption of AI in various products.
Mistral’s operations in the hypergrowth sectors will be driven from its US-based offices in Silicon Valley and Dallas, in line with its objective to establish a global footprint and offer scalable, high-growth solutions. Dr Sampath Ravinarayanan, Director and Chief Mentor, emphasized the company’s commitment to becoming a major player in the unmanned combat and ground systems sectors, while rebuilding its leadership team to support this growth.
