AVPL International has successfully launched 30 Aero Vision Labs across India in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), marking a significant leap in practical drone education and technology integration. This achievement is part of a broader commitment to set up 50 such labs under an MoU signed between AVPL and AICTE.
Each lab, backed by an investment of up to ₹50 lakh by AVPL, is designed to provide students and educators with access to cutting-edge drone technology and training. These labs aim to enhance institutional infrastructure, support entrepreneurship, and encourage active community involvement. With 20 additional labs currently under construction, the initiative is positioning itself as a model for industry-academia collaboration to advance India’s drone capabilities.
The initial rollout selected 47 institutions based on infrastructure availability and compliant airspace. By June 2025, 30 labs were up and running in 13 states and union territories, with the remaining 20 at various stages of progress.
Preet Sandhuu, Founder and Managing Director of AVPL International, shared, “These labs are about shaping a technologically empowered India. Through this partnership with AICTE, we’re building an ecosystem that fosters innovation, prepares students with relevant skills, and opens up employment avenues, especially in underserved regions.”
The labs are located in states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the union territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Gujarat and Karnataka currently lead with six labs each. Each facility occupies at least 5,060 sq. ft. and features AVPL’s domestically developed Viraj agriculture drones, flight simulators, telemetry equipment, and diagnostics tools.
Students have access to a range of training programs such as the Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC), Kisan Drone Operator (KDO), and Drone Service Technician courses. Faculty members are also trained through a dedicated Training of Trainers (ToT) initiative to ensure long-term knowledge transfer and alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The labs also offer pathways to internships, project-based learning, and startup incubation.
AVPL International is active across a range of sectors including defence, geospatial intelligence, precision agriculture, and drone-based services like surveillance, scanning, and mapping.
