Avaada Energy, the renewable energy arm of the Avaada Group, has received the ‘Letter of Award’ (LoA) from MSEB Solar Agro Power Limited (MSAPL), a subsidiary of the Maharashtra Government, in a pioneering move to promote sustainable rural development and strengthen energy security.

Avaada Energy is a leading renewable energy company in India, committed to sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions. With a focus on solar and wind power projects, Avaada Energy has established itself as a key player in the renewable energy sector. The company’s mission is to provide clean, affordable, and reliable energy solutions to help combat climate change and promote a greener future.

Avaada Energy’s projects are designed to harness the power of nature and contribute to India’s energy transition towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. With a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and environmental stewardship, Avaada Energy is at the forefront of India’s renewable energy revolution.

This prestigious acknowledgment appoints Avaada Energy to lead the development and operation of decentralized agricultural solar PV projects totaling 1,138 MW across Maharashtra by 2025. This initiative is part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0) or ‘Mission 2025’, a bold effort aimed at transforming the agricultural energy landscape of Maharashtra by solarizing 30% of agricultural feeders by 2025.

The project’s official endorsement was received during a ceremony attended by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of farmers and boosting the state’s global industrial competitiveness.

Maharashtra, home to a vast consumer base of around 29 million, including 4.5 million engaged in agriculture, faces persistent challenges in ensuring reliable daytime power supply for irrigation. To address this, the state has embarked on a path of decentralization through Agriculture Solar PV projects, involving an investment of INR 50 billion across 192 locations in 10 districts.

This initiative promises uninterrupted daytime power, creating approximately 2,500 direct and indirect jobs and fostering local and regional economic development. Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the significance of the MSKVY 2.0 scheme, highlighting its role in advancing rural prosperity and sustainable energy solutions.

Vineet Mittal, Chairperson of Avaada Group, shared optimism about the initiative’s potential to provide steady electricity for irrigation, create jobs, and enhance farmers’ income. Aligned with the PM-KUSUM Yojana, this solarization effort aims to cater to daytime electricity needs, optimize the load curve, reduce carbon emissions, improve the state’s power distribution, and cut AT&C losses for the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.

The forthcoming initiatives are poised to provide electricity to approximately 425,000 households and, concurrently, curtail CO2 emissions by an estimated 1.75 million tonnes per year. This underscores their profound environmental and societal advantages, elucidating their pivotal role in fostering sustainable development and mitigating climate change impacts.
