A high-level Australian clean energy delegation comprising 30 representatives from 22 companies is visiting India from July 7 to 11, 2025, with the aim of expanding partnerships and showcasing advanced clean energy technologies. The delegation brings expertise across a wide range of sectors including energy storage, artificial intelligence for energy operations, solar energy, green hydrogen, energy modelling, weather forecasting, consulting, and education and training.
Organized by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the visit is supported by the governments of New South Wales and Victoria, with additional backing from Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia. As part of the visit, the delegation is participating in the 11th edition of India Energy Storage Week (IESW) in New Delhi from July 8 to 10, where Australia is featured as the Country Partner. Following the event, the group will travel to Bengaluru to explore potential collaborations and engage with leading clean energy organizations through site visits.
Australia is known globally for its vast renewable energy resources, strong R&D capabilities, skilled workforce, reliable investment climate, and robust mineral reserves essential for energy technologies. These strengths position Australia as a strategic clean energy partner for India.
The visit aligns with broader government efforts under the “Future Made in Australia” initiative, aimed at establishing the country as a renewable energy powerhouse. Clean energy has also been identified as a key area of cooperation in the updated India–Australia economic roadmap.
Nathan Davis, Trade and Investment Commissioner at Austrade, commented on Australia’s participation at IESW 2025 “We are pleased to return to IESW this year to showcase Australia’s world-class clean energy expertise. Our goal is to support India’s energy transition and net-zero ambitions by delivering effective and scalable solutions. With the support of the Australia–India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA) and our new bilateral economic roadmap, there are more opportunities than ever for Australian businesses to collaborate with Indian partners. Austrade stands ready to support and foster these connections.”
