Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area, known as Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, has approved the allotment of industrial plots to multiple companies following its recent Land Allotment Committee meeting. Developed as India’s first integrated greenfield smart industrial city under the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), AURIC continues to attract diverse investments across sectors.

The newly approved projects cover industries including specialty food ingredients, paper products, electronics manufacturing, road construction equipment, and alloy casting. Together, these projects represent investments exceeding ₹200 crore and are expected to generate around 1,000 jobs.

The Committee, comprising officials from Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) and NICDC, evaluated proposals under the Priority and Expansion categories based on project feasibility, turnover, land requirements, and expansion potential. Several key industrial projects have recently been approved, signaling significant investments and job creation across sectors. Science for Society Techno Services Pvt Ltd has been allotted a large 37,388 sq m plot in Sector 12 and recognized as a Mega Project. The company plans to set up a specialty food ingredient manufacturing plant with an investment of ₹104 crore. The project is expected to generate 325 jobs and will incorporate a zero-discharge system to minimize its environmental footprint.

In the paper products sector, Su-Tantra Paper Products Pvt Ltd has been granted a 370.79 sq.m. plot adjacent to its existing facility in Sector 5, Shendra. This allocation will support the company’s expansion efforts, allowing it to scale its current operations. The firm presently reports an annual turnover of ₹8–10 crore, and the expansion is aimed at enhancing production capacity and operational efficiency.

Alankar Engineering Equipments Pvt Ltd has received a 7,378 sq m plot in Sector 5 to support the growth of its road construction equipment business. With a planned investment of ₹17.50 crore, this marks a continuation of the company’s development in the region, following a previous land allotment of 8,200 sq.m. in July 2022. The expansion aims to meet rising demand and strengthen the company’s market position.

In the electronics manufacturing space, Lonbest India Pvt Ltd has secured a 37,388.70 sq m plot in Sector 12 and has also been granted Mega Project status. The company intends to establish a comprehensive electronics manufacturing system focused on chipsets and printed circuit boards (PCBs). With an investment of ₹110 crore, the project is expected to create approximately 500 jobs, contributing to the region’s growing electronics ecosystem.

Lastly, Varad Alloy Casting has been allocated a 6,057 sq m plot in Sector 5 under the priority category. The company will establish a new aluminium foundry dedicated to die casting, aimed at catering to the increasing demand from the automotive and industrial sectors. This project will enhance local manufacturing capabilities and support the broader goal of industrial diversification.

The Government of India has been actively promoting investments in AURIC. Recent visits by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, and DPIIT Secretary, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, focused on strengthening policies, addressing industry concerns, and boosting investor confidence.
