AT&S AG, a global leader in IC substrates and printed circuit boards based in Austria, has officially launched its Information Technology Shared Service Center (IT SSC) in Pune, Maharashtra. This new facility is part of AT&S’s global operations and aims to tap into India’s talent pool, offering a range of career opportunities for IT professionals in areas such as IT Security, SAP, and Program Development.
The IT SSC in Pune will support AT&S’s operations across Austria, China, Malaysia, and India. The company plans to hire over 100 technical professionals by 2025-26 to support its six manufacturing plants and nine sales offices worldwide. Peter Griehsnig, Chief Technology Officer of AT&S AG, expressed his excitement about the new center, saying, “AT&S is committed to progress, innovation, and investing in the brightest minds and cutting-edge technology globally. This IT Shared Service Center in Pune is a key milestone in our digital transformation. India’s abundant talent and innovative spirit make it the perfect location to enhance efficiency, agility, and technological excellence across our global operations.”
The Pune IT SSC is a critical part of AT&S’s new Target Operating Model, designed to deliver high-quality IT services by leveraging India’s skilled workforce. By establishing this center, AT&S joins a growing number of global companies that are setting up shared service centers in India to access top-tier IT talent and drive innovation.
This move follows the visit of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Austria in July of last year, during which AT&S’s leadership met with the Prime Minister in Vienna. The Pune facility also strengthens AT&S’s 25-year presence in India, where the company already operates a high-tech PCB manufacturing plant in Nanjangud, near Mysuru. AT&S is currently India’s largest exporter of advanced PCBs. This new IT center marks a strategic shift in the company’s approach to business efficiency in the microelectronics and PCB manufacturing sectors, giving AT&S a significant competitive edge in the industry.
The IT SSC in Pune provides comprehensive IT services to support AT&S’s global manufacturing of high-end microelectronics and printed circuit boards. The center operates across four key areas: Security & Infrastructure, IT Applications, Operations Technology, and Digital & Data. The team is led by A.S. Raghavendra, who leads a group of IT experts focused on enhancing operations and innovation.
