Spanish health insurer ASISA has appointed global technology firm HCLTech as its strategic IT partner to advance digital transformation efforts and support expansion across the Iberian region. The agreement will see HCLTech take charge of modernizing ASISA’s core IT systems, deploying artificial intelligence and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and customer experience for its 2.2 million policyholders. A key focus will be transitioning legacy platforms to more agile, scalable infrastructure.

“This collaboration marks an important phase in our evolution,” said José Pereira, Chief Technology Officer at ASISA. “By upgrading our systems and adopting next-generation technologies, we’re ensuring our operations are built for long-term growth and service excellence.”

HCLTech will lead a full mainframe modernization effort and deliver digital solutions to help ASISA streamline processes and boost responsiveness. The initiative is expected to sharpen the company’s competitive edge as it grows its footprint across Spain and neighboring markets.

“Partnering with ASISA demonstrates our continued focus on Iberia and our commitment to enabling clients to meet their long-term goals through robust digital solutions,” said Sudip Lahiri, Executive Vice President and Head of Financial Services, Europe, at HCLTech. “With our expertise in mainframe systems and infrastructure services, we’re positioned to help ASISA accelerate innovation and improve service delivery.”
