Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has opened a new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) dealership in Thiruvananthapuram. This marks the company’s sixth LCV outlet in Kerala.

The new dealership, operated by Capital Trucks, is located at Vembayam, Kanyakulangara, and offers Sales, Service, and Spare Parts (3S) support. The facility is equipped with modern tools, ten quick service bays, and infrastructure designed to improve service quality and reduce turnaround times for customers. The company’s current LCV portfolio includes BADA DOST, DOST, SAATHI, PARTNER, and MiTR — vehicles developed to meet the varying demands of small and medium-scale commercial transport.

“Kerala continues to be an important region for our LCV business,” said Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland Ltd. “The strong performance of our DOST and BADA DOST models, and now SAATHI, is a reflection of our focus on durability, fuel efficiency, and customer satisfaction. With an estimated 70% customer retention rate even after the warranty period, our products are proving reliable over time.”

Ashok Leyland introduced its LCV product line to meet the evolving needs of the Indian market by combining affordability with technology. More than 5.5 lakh LCVs from the company are currently in operation across the country.

The SAATHI is Ashok Leyland’s latest entry into the sub-2-ton small commercial vehicle segment. Compact yet powerful, it comes equipped with a 45 HP engine delivering 110 Nm of torque. Designed for efficiency and practicality, the SAATHI offers a class-leading payload capacity of 1,120 kg and the largest loading area in its category, making it an ideal option for small business operations and last-mile delivery.

The BADA DOST range is built on a newly developed platform, offering enhanced durability and flexibility. Available in five variants—i2, i3+, i4, i5, and i5XL—the BADA DOST is powered by an 80 HP BS6 engine. It combines strong payload capabilities with a compact footprint, making it well-suited for both city deliveries and rural transportation, while offering better mileage and load-carrying efficiency.

The DOST Series, including the DOST XL and DOST+ XL, caters to a variety of customer needs. These models are designed for multiple applications across different market segments, with configurations that suit small businesses, logistics companies, and other commercial users who require a dependable and economical transport solution.

The PARTNER is a medium-duty load carrier available in both 4-tyre and 6-tyre formats. It supports payloads of up to 4 tonnes and comes with load body options ranging from 10 feet to 17 feet in length. Powered by the globally acclaimed ZD30 CRDI engine, the PARTNER is built on an international platform and is engineered for fuel efficiency and reliable performance across long distances and varied terrain.

The MiTR Bus is designed to serve both school and staff transportation needs. Built on the same platform as the PARTNER, it delivers smooth performance and fuel economy even in frequent stop-and-go conditions. The MiTR school bus variant adheres to all safety regulations and compliance codes, while also providing a comfortable ride for passengers.

Each of these vehicles is manufactured at Ashok Leyland’s advanced facility in Hosur, reflecting the company’s focus on engineering quality and product reliability. Together, this diverse lineup of light and medium commercial vehicles supports a wide range of transportation needs across India’s growing logistics and mobility sectors.

Ashok Leyland has built a wide service network of over 1,700 exclusive outlets across India. This network is designed to ensure that a service point is accessible every 75 kilometers along key highways, offering dependable support to customers throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.
