ARMIS India names Nataraja Chandra as its new Non-Executive Director & CRO

ARMIS acts as an interface with Japanese universities in bringing innovations from universities to solve OEMs and market needs including addressing reliability. They started their operations in India in 2018 and recently appointed Nataraja Chandra as the new Non-Executive Director & Chief Revenue Officer at ARMIS India. Having technical and finance experience, Nataraja Chandra will not only develop medium and long term strategies for the company but also give financial advice to them.

Advanced Rotary Machinery & Intelligent System (ARMIS) established in the year 2017 are from Shizuoka & Nagoya University, Japan. In India, ARMIS provide end to end consultancy in Power Electronics and mechanical companies who want to shift to EV (Electric Vehicle). Their main goal is not only to transfer technology to OEMs and enable manufacturing, but also to have manufacturing capability for motors, inverters, and electronics with their well-known partners for startups and SMEs/ MSMEs. Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial / Specific Refrigeration, and Medical High Voltage Devices are their target market segments.

Recently the company announced the appointment of industry expert Nataraja Chandra as their new Non-Executive Director & Chief Revenue Officer. Gnana Kumara Swamy, Co-founder and CEO of ARMIS India said, “ARMIS India and Japan team is excited to welcome on board Nataraja Chandra with more than 3 decades of Automotive Industry experience. I personally knew him for more than 15 years, and he has been my mentor and advisor in my career growth at BOSCH."

He further added, "Mr Nataraja's vast experience has already helped ARMIS India to start into Power Electronics Consultancy from Hiring Power Electronics Engineers, Training on Power Electronics to Designing & Prototyping Services to our customers in INDIA, we are exploring Power Electronics Consultancy in Electric Vehicle (Motor, Controller, BMS, PDU), Railways (APU’s & LT/HT Panels replacing Relays & Switches with Microprocessor based driving of PE devices), Air Conditioners, UAV, Drones & Medical Electronics.”

Nataraja Chandra was with Robert Bosch for 22 years and served at multiple locations in India, Germany, South Korea/ Japan and the United Kingdom. Served as Managing Director of two other companies at TT Electronics, Gurgaon and IAV India, Pune before joining Knorr-Bremse as its Managing Director. His last position was at Vector Informatik India as its President and Managing Director.

He has vast experience in mechanical design as well as electronics hardware and software. He has set up technical centres in South Korea, Seoul as well as in India at Bangalore. He holds international work experience (Germany, South Korea, UK). He also served on the board of SAE South India and has delivered many national and international lectures on lean development and engineering strategies for India and other emerging markets.

Nataraja Chandra shared, “ARMIS vision is to accelerate power electronic innovations for the Indian market. Apart from this, we want to explore power electronics mostly in EVs like two-wheelers, three-wheelers and passenger cars with a specific focus on motors, inverters, controllers and battery management systems. We also want to do consulting for railway equipment like Low Tension and High-Tension panels."

As a strategic vision, Nataraja Chandra said, “As a long-term prospect we also want to go to industrial applications and we also foresee a lot of scope in medical electronics. With the Japanese technologies that ARMIS have, we want to give Indian manufacturers the right component for the right vehicles. In the next 16 to 18 months, my vision is to have a good foothold in 3 to 4 electric vehicle manufacturers."
