John Cockerill has successfully achieved a major milestone at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel’s Hazira facility with the first coil produced on the newly commissioned Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL#3). This transition from commissioning to full-scale production marks a significant accomplishment, reinforcing the company’s ability to deliver high-performance, reliable, and future-oriented solutions to the steel industry.

The project stands out not only for its technological success but also for its exceptional safety record, completed with zero lost time injuries—a clear indication of the team’s disciplined approach and strong safety culture throughout execution. This advanced galvanizing line is India’s first dedicated Auto Grade Exposed CGL, specifically designed to meet the demanding surface and strength requirements of the automotive sector.

It processes Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) up to 1180 MPa, delivering consistent quality suitable for exposed parts in vehicles. This innovation supports the production of lighter, stronger, and more efficient vehicles, contributing to the country’s efforts toward sustainable and safer mobility solutions.

John Cockerill’s involvement in this project has been marked by strong collaboration with AMNS and seamless coordination across engineering, installation, and commissioning phases. The successful outcome reflects the technical expertise and shared commitment between the two organizations. This achievement further establishes John Cockerill as a trusted partner to the global steel industry—provides advanced technology and also prioritizing performance, safety, and long-term reliability.
