Aptiv PLC (NYSE: APTV), a global industrial technology company, will present its intelligent edge technologies at CES 2026, demonstrating how vehicles and connected systems can process data, make decisions, and respond in real time. By moving advanced computing and artificial intelligence closer to where data is generated, Aptiv supports high-performance applications across transportation, robotics, aerospace, and other industries. By handling data locally rather than depending entirely on cloud-based systems, Aptiv’s edge-based solutions deliver quicker system responses and improved overall efficiency.

“At CES 2026, we are showing how Aptiv supports real-time sensing, decision-making, and control to improve safety and adaptability across vehicles and other connected systems,” said Javed Khan, Executive Vice President and President of Intelligent Systems at Aptiv. “Our technologies are already operating in millions of vehicles worldwide, and we are extending these proven capabilities into robotics, aerospace, and other critical applications.”

In the automotive space, Aptiv will introduce its next-generation end-to-end AI-based ADAS platform. The system is designed to improve safety and deliver more natural driving behavior, supporting advanced hands-free driving (L2++) in both highway and urban environments. The platform uses AI for perception, sensor fusion, and behavior planning, learning from real-world driving data to improve performance over time.

A key component of the platform is Aptiv’s newly launched Gen 8 radar family, which offers extended range, high resolution, and strong object detection across all driving conditions. Combined with machine learning software, these radars support reliable performance in complex scenarios. The platform also includes the Aptiv PULSE™ sensor, which combines surround-view cameras with ultra-short-range radar to provide full 360-degree awareness. Together, these technologies support urban driving, highway travel, and parking, even in poor lighting or adverse weather.

At CES 2026, Aptiv will also present its latest Digital Cockpit solutions for passenger and commercial vehicles. Designed to improve safety and usability, these systems combine user interface design, ADAS integration, and middleware to support collaboration between drivers and vehicles during hands-free operation. The solutions help drivers stay informed and prepared to take control when necessary, while allowing automakers to introduce customized in-cabin experiences.

Aptiv’s Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and Cabin Monitoring System (CMS) use camera and radar-based sensing to track occupant presence and behavior. The CMS can replace traditional seat-based sensors with vision-based monitoring, lowering system complexity and cost while improving flexibility and meeting safety requirements. Development is supported by a virtual synthetic data environment that produces realistic datasets for training AI systems.

Personalization features include the Aptiv Cockpit Sound Suite, Face ID, and modular software services built on the Aptiv Android Automotive Framework. Directional audio alerts provide targeted sound cues—ranging from standard stereo to spatial audio—ensuring safety messages reach the intended occupant without distracting others. Face ID enables automatic profile recognition and adjusts settings such as mirrors, seating, and driver assistance preferences, reducing manual adjustments.

This open software approach is supported through partnerships that give OEMs control over vehicle software design. Aptiv will also showcase its work with Verizon on Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) technology, combining 5G connectivity, edge computing, and automotive systems to improve road safety.

Using Aptiv’s cloud-native software platform with Wind River technology, along with Verizon’s Edge Transportation Exchange, the demonstration highlights how low-latency communication can support safer mobility. One example includes sharing the detected locations of pedestrians and cyclists between vehicles using 5G C-V2X, helping drivers and automated systems respond to hazards that may not be visible.

These capabilities are supported by the Aptiv Layered Infrastructure for Networking and Compute (LINC™) Software Platform, designed for complex real-time embedded systems. LINC is a modular software foundation that supports software-defined vehicles and includes communication middleware, development tools, software-defined networking, container management, and edge intelligence. The platform is built to reduce development time while enabling advanced vehicle features such as C-V2X applications.

Aptiv’s CES 2026 exhibit will also feature solutions for robotics and aerospace applications. Demonstrations include an AI-enabled collaborative robot and a next-generation Autonomous Mobile Robot for material handling, using Aptiv’s PULSE sensor and computing technologies. Additional displays will feature the VxWorks® real-time operating system, Wind River Helix® Virtualization Platform, and Wind River Cloud Platform, highlighting Aptiv’s role in supporting safety-critical systems across multiple industries.
