Apraava Energy, a leading integrated energy solutions provider, has been awarded a 300 MW solar power project by state-owned NTPC. The project will be established in Rajasthan and is expected to be completed within 24 months. It was secured through an e-reverse auction at a tariff of Rs 2.65 per kWh, according to a company statement.
Apraava Energy has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Ltd for this 300 MW solar project, which will be connected to the Interstate Transmission System (ISTS). This marks the company’s second major solar project in Rajasthan, following the announcement of a 250 MW greenfield solar project earlier this year, also secured through a competitive auction by NHPC.
In addition to these solar initiatives, Rajasthan is home to Apraava’s three operational wind power projects, with a total capacity of 253.6 MW, and three transmission projects currently under development. Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Managing Director of Apraava Energy, said, “We are thrilled to add this large-scale solar project to our expanding renewable energy portfolio.”
This project is part of NTPC’s solar tender for 1,500 MW of ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Projects across India. The PPA between NTPC and the company will be valid for 25 years from the start of power supply. Under the agreement, Apraava Energy will be responsible for building, owning, and operating the solar project throughout the PPA period.
Apraava’s current renewable energy portfolio, including both wind and solar, stands at 1,420 MW, with projects spread across multiple states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. Additionally, the company has 900 MW of renewable projects under construction.
