Apollo Micro Systems Ltd (AMSL), a key player in the defense and aerospace sectors, announced on September 18 that it has been shortlisted by the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), a unit under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for the transfer of technology (ToT) related to the production of PRACHAND munition hardware.
In a filing to the stock exchange, the company stated, “We are pleased to inform you that the company has been shortlisted by ARDE, DRDO, for the transfer of technology related to the production of PRACHAND munition hardware.” This development marks a significant step for AMSL, as it will now be able to manufacture and supply PRACHAND munition components to the Indian Armed Forces.
PRACHAND is an advanced anti-tank munition known for its full-width attack capability. The transfer of technology will allow Apollo Micro Systems to produce these critical components domestically, aligning with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The company expressed optimism about the market potential for PRACHAND, indicating that it is well-prepared to undertake large-scale production to meet demand.
Additionally, AMSL has secured a separate order valued at ₹5.72 crore from Reliable Technosystems India Pvt Ltd for the supply of electronic modules, further strengthening its order book and expanding its business prospects. “We are pleased to inform you that the company has received the order from Reliable Technosystems India Pvt. Ltd. for the supply of electronic modules worth ₹5.72 crore,” AMSL confirmed. These developments highlight Apollo Micro Systems’ expanding role in India’s defense manufacturing sector, enhancing its position as a key supplier of advanced technology solutions to the armed forces.
