Specialty chemicals manufacturer Anupam Rasayan announced on Friday that it has entered into a letter of intent (LOI) with Elementium Materials Inc, a US-based firm, to supply chemicals for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The supply is expected to begin by the end of fiscal 2026, according to a regulatory filing.
Once product development is successfully completed, both companies will negotiate a five-year supply agreement, with projected sales ranging from USD 350 million to USD 450 million. Anand Desai, Managing Director of Anupam Rasayan, stated, “This product will be crucial in helping our customer achieve its goal of producing low-cost, high-performance EV batteries.”
Initially, the products will be supplied from existing manufacturing facilities, with plans to set up a new plant to meet full production capacity. Matthew Dawson, CEO of Elementium Materials, described the partnership as an important step in the company’s strategy to build a diversified and resilient global supply chain.
