Anu Aga, the former Chairperson of Thermax, has been awarded the prestigious Dr K S Basu Lifetime Achievement Award by the Bombay Management Association (BMA). The award was presented by Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, also the Chancellor of Maharashtra State Public Universities at the BMA Platinum Jubilee Awards function.
The award ceremony took place on May 31, 2024, at the UNESCO Heritage University of Mumbai Convocation Hall, Fort. Other dignitaries in attendance included, Dr Kiran Yadav, President Bombay Management Association; Dr R A Mashelkar, Former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Chief Jury at BMA; Prof (Dr) Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai.
Anu Aga’s career at Thermax began in 1985. She led the human resources division from 1991 to 1996 before taking over as Chairperson after the passing of her husband, Rohinton Aga. She served as Chairperson until 2004 when she was succeeded by her daughter, Meher Pudumjee.
In addition to her corporate achievements, Anu Aga is recognized for her significant contributions to philanthropy, particularly through NGOs such as Akanksha and Teach for India. Aga was also the recipient of the Management Achiever of the Year – Women award for 2002-2003 which was conferred by BMA. The BMA award acknowledges her remarkable contributions to both the business and social sectors.
