ANCA has appointed Edmund Boland as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2026, beginning a new phase for the global manufacturer of CNC grinding and automation technology. Mr Boland succeeds Martin Ripple, who leaves the company at the end of July after supporting a structured leadership transition.

ANCA Chairman Gavin Smith said the Board unanimously approved Mr Boland’s appointment, citing his extensive experience across the company, understanding of its technology and customers, and proven leadership in global operations. “Edmund brings a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational experience and a deep understanding of what has made ANCA successful for more than five decades. The Board has every confidence in his ability to lead the company through its next phase of growth,” Smith said.

Mr Boland has been associated with ANCA for most of his career. He first worked with the company during school holidays, gaining experience across departments including the factory floor, stores and Grinding Centre. Over the past two decades, he has held senior positions spanning finance, global supply chain, international management and operations.

His previous roles include General Manager of ANCA Europe and, most recently, General Manager of ANCA CNC Machines. This experience has given Boland a broad understanding of ANCA’s manufacturing technology, international operations and the requirements of precision manufacturers worldwide.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Boland said ANCA’s success has been built around strong relationships with customers and a commitment to helping manufacturers address complex production challenges. “What I value most about ANCA is our people, our customers and the way they use our technology. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work closely with cutting tool manufacturers around the world and see their businesses develop,” Mr Boland said.

He added that his focus as CEO will be to strengthen ANCA’s position through continued investment in innovation, quality and customer service. The company will continue developing technologies such as MicroX and AIMS while working closely with manufacturers to address current and future production requirements.

ANCA Co-Founder Pat Boland welcomed the appointment, noting Edmund Boland’s long-standing contribution to the company and its customers. He said Mr Boland had earned the confidence of employees, suppliers and customers through his commitment, integrity and focus on helping manufacturers succeed. Pat Boland also highlighted the importance of ANCA’s broader customer support, including applications engineering, service and aftermarket assistance, alongside its machine technology.

With more than 53 years of experience, ANCA works with manufacturers globally across precision tool production, CNC grinding, automation and software. Under Edmund Boland’s leadership, the company will continue to build on its established technology base while developing solutions for the next generation of manufacturing.
