AMTZ Partners with FORGE to Strengthen India’s MedTech Innovation Landscape

AMTZ

In a major step toward advancing the medical technology sector, Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) has teamed up with FORGE Innovation & Ventures to establish a dedicated hub for startup development and innovation. The new initiative—set within the Medivalley Research Square—will feature a Forge Factory, Academy, and Accelerator, each tailored to support different stages of startup growth.

This collaboration is geared toward creating a robust ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship, speeds up product development, and promotes affordable healthcare solutions made in India. As part of the new collaboration with AMTZ, FORGE will establish the Forge Factory, a dedicated space designed to support the hands-on development of medical technologies.

This facility will provide startups with access to state-of-the-art labs, advanced tools, and prototyping infrastructure. By offering an environment where teams can design, build, and test their devices under real-world conditions, the Forge Factory aims to fast-track product development and ensure greater readiness for market deployment.

Complementing this is the Forge Academy, a platform focused on skill-building and mentorship. It will deliver targeted programs for entrepreneurs, engineers, and researchers working in the medtech space. The Academy’s curriculum will cover critical areas such as medical device design, compliance and regulatory requirements, and the application of emerging technologies. By nurturing talent and enhancing capabilities, it seeks to build a strong foundation for innovation-led growth in healthcare.

Rounding out the initiative is the Forge Accelerator, which is tailored to support early-stage startups in their journey from concept to commercialization. Through this program, selected ventures will gain access to seed funding, expert guidance in refining their business models, and strategic support for entering both domestic and global markets. The Accelerator is designed to reduce early barriers, helping startups scale their solutions and make meaningful contributions to the medtech industry.

Dr Jitendar Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of AMTZ, said the partnership reflects a shared mission to empower healthcare startups and reduce the country’s dependence on imported technologies. “With this alliance, we’re building a space where innovators can develop solutions that are both impactful and accessible,” he stated.

Vish Sahasranamam, Co-founder and CEO of FORGE, added, “AMTZ has already set the benchmark for medtech infrastructure in India. By working together, we aim to create a collaborative network that drives innovation and supports the health ecosystem at large.”

The Medivalley Research Square already hosts a mix of medical device firms, R&D centers, and tech developers. With FORGE’s integrated support, the zone is expected to become a high-impact launchpad for new healthcare technologies aimed at both Indian and global markets.
