Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has embarked on the ‘Ultimate Endurance Ride’, a nearly 4,000-km cross-country journey designed to demonstrate the durability, reliability and connected technology of the Ampere Magnus GMax across some of India’s most challenging riding conditions. Launched on World EV Day, the 15-day expedition will begin at Dong in Arunachal Pradesh, one of India’s easternmost points, and conclude at Guhar Moti in Gujarat, the country’s westernmost point, taking the electric scooter across eight states and a diverse range of terrains and weather conditions.
Ridden by Girish Seth of Weekend on Wheels, the journey will cover high-altitude mountain roads, forested hill routes, national highways, dense urban stretches and the coastal and salt-flat terrain surrounding Guhar Moti. The expedition will expose the Magnus GMax to temperatures ranging from around 15°C in the humid, monsoon-affected conditions of Arunachal Pradesh to more than 35°C in Gujarat. The route will also involve a descent of more than 1,200 metres from the high-altitude starting point to sea level. Every kilometre, charging cycle and key performance reading will be recorded throughout the journey.
The expedition is intended to demonstrate Ampere’s ‘Built for Bharat’ philosophy, which recognises the wide variation in Indian roads, weather conditions and riding requirements. The Magnus GMax will showcase the combined capabilities of its next-generation LFP battery, claimed to offer a battery life of up to 2,00,000 km, dual-frame chassis and NxG.io smart technology. Together, these features are designed to deliver durability, reliability, endurance and connected intelligence for everyday electric mobility.
Speaking about the expedition, Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility Limited, said the ‘Built for Bharat’ philosophy is based on the understanding that India presents diverse roads, riders and operating conditions. He said the Ultimate Endurance Ride would put the Magnus GMax through demanding conditions over nearly 4,000 km, demonstrating how technology, reliability and performance can be engineered around the requirements of Indian customers.
The expedition will include key stops in Patna, Varanasi and Jaipur, providing opportunities for Ampere to engage with its dealer network, riders and local stakeholders. The journey is expected to further highlight the company’s focus on developing electric scooters suited to India’s varied mobility requirements.
