Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Reports 11% Rise in Q3 Net Profit to ₹298 Crore

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility posted an 11% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹298 crore for the quarter ending December 2024, up from ₹269 crore in the same period last year. The company’s revenue from operations grew by 10% to ₹3,164 crore, compared to ₹2,881 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Chairman & Managing Director Jayadev Galla attributed the strong performance to sustained demand in the lead-acid battery segment, both in domestic and international markets. He also highlighted the company’s rapid strides in lithium-ion battery and charger development, reaffirming Amara Raja’s commitment to pioneering indigenous Li-ion cell manufacturing in India.

Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director, New Energy Business, stated that the company is actively advancing its Giga Corridor initiative, with a research and engineering center and a customer qualification plant set to become operational in the coming quarters. Currently operating two battery pack facilities in Tirupati and Telangana, Amara Raja is gearing up to commence construction on its first large-scale Li-ion cell manufacturing plant. While acknowledging challenges in the sector, he emphasized the company’s ongoing efforts to secure new business and drive technology commercialization.

On the global front, Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director, Automotive & Industrial, outlined Amara Raja’s expansion strategy in European markets. He revealed that the company has successfully launched its Amaron brand in seven new countries, further strengthening its international presence.
