ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has provided approximately 7,000 metric tonnes of flat steel for the construction of India’s first cable-stayed Anji Khad rail bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge, which is a key part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), recently completed its first loaded train trial run.
Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President of Sales & Marketing at AM/NS India, expressed pride in the company’s contribution, highlighting the precision with which the steel was fabricated at their Hazira plant in Gujarat, fulfilling nearly all of the project’s steel requirements.
The Anji Khad bridge is a significant infrastructure achievement, linking the Katra and Reasi sections of the USBRL, and AM/NS India’s involvement from the beginning demonstrates their expertise in supporting large-scale engineering projects. The company’s contribution extends to another landmark project, the Chenab Bridge, where they supplied over 70% of the flat steel needed for the world’s highest rail bridge.
