From 18 to 20 September 2025, Istanbul will once again serve as the meeting point for the international aluminium and non-ferrous metals community. The 9th International Aluminium Technologies, Machinery and Products Fair (ALUEXPO) will take place at the Istanbul Expo Centre, positioning itself as the premier platform in the Eurasian region for innovation, knowledge exchange, and technology spanning the entire aluminium value chain.
With a population of 85 million and a forecast GDP growth of 3.1% in 2025, Türkiye continues to grow as both a dynamic domestic market and a strategic hub for global trade. Its advantageous geographical location, customs union with the EU, and diversified industrial base make it an attractive destination for the aluminium and foundry industries.
Global trade shifts—accelerated by the 50% tariffs on aluminium and steel imposed by the US—have strengthened Türkiye’s role as a competitive player in the metals market. At the same time, domestic demand is rising sharply, driven by urbanisation, infrastructure expansion, industrial projects, and mobility solutions.
Aluminium is in particularly high demand in construction, transport, electrical engineering, packaging, and defence due to its lightweight properties, recyclability, and energy efficiency. According to TALSAD, Türkiye produces over 2 million tonnes of aluminium annually, with exports—especially to the EU—showing steady growth.
The industry is also seeing rapid investment in digitalisation, recycling, decarbonisation, and energy-efficient production technologies, supported by national initiatives such as the Energy Efficiency Action Plan, which is spurring demand for smart building materials, insulation, and lightweight transport components.
This year’s edition will feature 466 exhibitors from 29 countries, including leading companies such as ABP Induction Systems, Otto Junker, Asaş, Assan Alüminyum San. ve Tic, and Qatar Aluminium. Exhibitors will showcase breakthroughs in primary and secondary aluminium, foundry machinery, surface treatments, recycling, and environmental technologies.
The 12th International Aluminium Symposium, held in parallel with the fair, will bring together leading scientists, industry experts, and decision-makers to explore the most pressing issues and opportunities in the aluminium sector. The program will highlight sustainability, recycling, and the EU Green Deal, alongside discussions on global trade flows, market outlook, and the role of cutting-edge technologies in driving the industry forward.
Key focus areas will include innovations in melting, casting, and recycling, as well as advances in extrusion, rolling, forming, and heat treatment for enhanced material performance. The symposium will also showcase progress in new aluminium alloys, additive manufacturing, and digitalisation, while addressing critical themes such as occupational health and safety—ensuring a comprehensive exchange on the future direction of the aluminium industry.
ALUEXPO 2025 will attract foundries, machinery producers, plant manufacturers, and metalworking firms from across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, establishing Istanbul as a key international business hub for the aluminium and non-ferrous metals sectors.
The event is organised by Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcılık AS, a joint venture of Messe Düsseldorf and Deutsche Messe AG, and is part of Messe Düsseldorf’s renowned “Bright World of Metals” portfolio—which includes world-leading trade fairs such as GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, NEWCAST, and ANKIROS. Alongside ALUEXPO, the “Bright World of Metals” series also extends to Southeast Asia with GIFA Southeast Asia and METEC Southeast Asia—leading trade fairs showcasing advancements in foundry technology, metallurgical processes, and sustainable production.
METEC Southeast Asia stands as the region’s premier trade fair for metallurgical technologies, plant engineering, and the production of both steel and non-ferrous metals. As part of The Bright World of Metals series, the event spotlights cutting-edge innovations in metallurgical equipment, process technology, and resource-efficient manufacturing. Serving as a key platform for innovation, sustainability, and industrial transformation, METEC Southeast Asia connects technology providers, producers of steel and non-ferrous metals, and influential political and business leaders to drive the industry’s growth and long-term resilience in the region.
Messe Düsseldorf Asia, a subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf—one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers with over 20 globally recognised events in Düsseldorf, Germany—has been a strong presence in the region since 1995. Over the years, it has built a robust portfolio of 18 leading trade fairs across diverse industries, including medical technology, occupational safety, packaging, printing, plastics processing, and wine & spirits, among others.
