Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a leading provider of computational intelligence solutions, has appointed Cimatron Ltd., part of the Sandvik Group, as its new global channel partner. This strategic partnership will extend the availability of Altair’s design and simulation tools, particularly the Altair® Inspire™ Mold and Altair® Inspire™ Form, which focus on injection molding and metal forming simulations, respectively, through the Altair® HyperWorks® platform.
Pavan Kumar, Senior Vice President of Global Indirect Business at Altair, emphasized that the collaboration aims to introduce Altair’s advanced simulation technology to new customers, especially those not yet utilizing digital tools for simulation or data analytics. He noted that this partnership will help these companies enhance their competitiveness in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. He also praised Cimatron as a strong addition to Altair’s partner network, anticipating substantial benefits for manufacturing customers.
Dan Marinac, Acting President of Cimatron, explained that Cimatron has a long history in the mold, tool, and die industry, and its customers are increasingly seeking modern solutions to validate their designs and reduce physical testing costs. By integrating Cimatron’s industry expertise with Altair’s technology, the partnership aims to boost productivity and help customers create better, more efficient products across the manufacturing sector.
Cimatron chose it’s solutions to offer “virtual prove out” capabilities within its mold and die design software. This collaboration will support digital twin modeling, simulation, and design optimization, enabling customers to predict and prevent manufacturing defects like sink marks, cooling issues, warpage, and surface defects. It’s user-friendly simulation technology will make these powerful tools accessible to toolmakers without requiring extensive expertise in computer-aided engineering (CAE).
