AKSI Aerospace Group and FIXAR Global have entered into a strategic partnership for licensed drone production in India, with an estimated value of up to Rs 85 crore, announced at Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru. This collaboration is a key development in India’s drone industry, advancing the country’s self-sufficiency in drone manufacturing and bolstering its position as a global production hub, said Pankaj Akula, CEO and Chairperson of AKSI Aerospace.
Under the agreement, AKSI Aerospace will produce drones in India for both local and international markets. The company will utilize its expertise in the complete in-house development of critical drone subsystems, including navigation, propulsion, batteries, airframe composites, and imaging systems.By manufacturing these components locally, AKSI aims to reduce India’s reliance on foreign imports while ensuring high-quality, secure, and trustworthy drone production.
According to Akula, FIXAR Global, a leader in software and aircraft design, powers autonomous drones used for industrial applications worldwide, with a presence across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The partnership will allow FIXAR to expand its manufacturing in India, tapping into AKSI’s advanced production, quality control, training, and maintenance capabilities for global markets.
