Targeting the speciality beauty industry segment, one of India’s leading container glass manufacturers AGI Glaspac inaugurated its new manufacturing facility at Bhongir, Telangana. The new facility is expected to provide employment to more than 350 people and aim to capture a 10-15% market share in the speciality glass segment.
The Packaging Products Division of HSIL Ltd, AGI Glaspac (AGI), one of India’s leading container glass bottle manufacturers, today inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Bhongir, Telangana. With an aim to cater to the growing demand in the Speciality Glas segment, the new 154 TPD (Tonnes per day) glass plant has initiated the production of clear glass products as vials, nail polish bottles, etc.
The new facility is expected to generate a revenue of ₹250 Crores at a CAGR of 10% YoY. The speciality glass division will manufacture clear glass products, that are primarily used in the beauty industry. The speciality glasses are used for packaging cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, perfumery, premium spirits, food & beverages, candle jars, and water bottles.
In line with the ‘Make in India‘ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat‘ vision, the new plant will help reduce dependency on imports and promote sustainability by encouraging various industries to choose glass products over plastic. The facility will provide direct employment to 350+ people and will serve foreign markets along with the Indian markets.
Talking about the new facility Rajesh Khosla, President and CEO of AGI Glaspac informed that the company’s vision of building a centre of excellence especially in container glass packaging using world-class technology, practices and machinery is getting achieved.
“The new facility will address the ever-evolving needs of our customers and is expected to add ₹250 Crores revenue. The facility also fulfils our commitment to producing sustainable and innovative glass products”, added Rajesh Khosla. The facility will comprise of end-fired furnaces with six forehearths for production and capable of producing 154 tonnes of premium flint and other different colours.
Aiming to capture 10%-15% market of speciality glass segment, the facility consists of state of art technology for Blow & Blow, Press & Blow with an integrated decoration facility for hot foil stamping, coating, lacquering, colouring in collaboration with world-renowned service providers. AGI will be using a 5” DG machine, 85mm IS10 TG machine, 64mm IS8 QG machine, 64mm IS 6+6 QG Tandem machine, and 5.5” IS 10 DG machines to manufacture nail polish bottles, foundation jars, perfume bottles, water bottles, food and beverages, premium spirits bottles, injectables, infusion bottles, carbonated water bottles, sparkling wine bottles etc. There are also several other specialized types of equipment for packaging and decoration.
AGI is expected to increase its production capacity further in the years to come. Based on the market needs, AGI Glaspac is also focused on serving the niche market with small batch requirements. This is possible because of the flexible production lines as per the requirements. In a measure to reduce the delivery lead time, AGI Glaspac is also planning to build warehouses at strategic locations covering their key markets.
