The HEX150-140HL provides flexible integration and intuitive operation with strong motion controllers, making it the ideal solution for applications requiring complicated multi-DOF motion in a short space.
Aerotech Inc., a global pioneer in precision motion control and automation, has introduced the HEX150-140HL, a small hexapod six degree-of-freedom (DOF) positioning system with exact translation in the X, Y, and Z dimensions as well as rotation around each of these axes. The HEX150-140HL outperforms its competition in terms of minimal incremental motion and linear movement, all while being compact and sturdy.
“The combination of this hexapod’s tiny size, great precision, and exceptional load capacity gives users an astounding amount of freedom,” stated Brian Fink, Aerotech product manager. “Plus, our peak-to-peak standards ensure that clients can rely on constant, dependable six-DOF motion with every application.”
The HEX150-140HL is well-suited for space-constrained, multiple DOF applications requiring fine positioning resolution, such as photonic device manipulation, alignment, and packaging, optics inspection and alignment, optical wafer probing, aerospace and satellite sensor testing, and synchrotron and beamline sample manipulation.
Key features include:
- Industry-leading minimum incremental motion of 20 nm in XYZxyz & 0.04 arc sec in θxθyθz;
- High payload lift capacities of up to 7.5 kg and backdriving resistance of up to 100 N;
- A wide range of motion allows for easy incorporation into complex systems.
- Multi-axis motion coordination (servo, stepper, piezo, and more) using Aerotech controllers; and
- Easy to operate and programme with virtual pivot point modification.
