Aequs, one of the leading players in the aerospace manufacturing sector, has recently been bestowed with the title of Best Ecosystem Accelerator at Wings India 2024. This recognition, presented by India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), has helped Aequs to accomplish a feat of success at Asia’s largest civil aviation show.
Aequs is a contract manufacturing company, offering comprehensive product solutions in the Aerospace and Consumer Goods sectors through a vertically integrated approach. Harnessing the power of its manufacturing ecosystems, Aequs consistently delivers streamlined supply chain solutions to a worldwide clientele. With a workforce of over 4,000 individuals, the company operates manufacturing facilities spanning across India, France, and the United States.
The Best Ecosystem Accelerator Award at Wings India 2024 was conferred to Aequs during a ceremony attended by dignitaries such as the Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, and General VK Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Aravind Melligeri, Chairman & CEO of Aequs, received the award with pride, emphasizing the company’s commitment to manufacturing excellence and the development of Ecosystems of Efficiency®. What added to the honor was the joint recognition with Airbus, the world’s largest airplane-maker and a long-time customer of Aequs.
Mr Melligeri expressed gratitude for sharing the award with Airbus, a company renowned for setting high standards in performance and quality.
Acknowledging the significance of the award, Mr Melligeri credited the success to the collaborative spirit and partnership ethos prevailing at the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster (BAC), the ecosystem in which Aequs operates. He extended his thanks to customers, partners, suppliers, and all stakeholders within the ecosystem, highlighting the collective effort that contributed to this remarkable achievement.
The Belagavi Aerospace Cluster, established in 2009, stands as India’s first Notified Precision Engineering SEZ, fostering an aerospace ecosystem that comprises over thirty manufacturing units today.
Spanning across 250+ acres, the BAC provides a vertically integrated manufacturing value chain within a single campus, facilitating seamless collaboration among ecosystem players. Aequs leverages this unique environment to offer its customers, which include global aerospace OEMs such as Airbus, Boeing, Collins, and Safran, the advantage of a cohesive and efficient ecosystem.
The proximity of various manufacturing units within the same campus minimizes intermediate stage manufacturing processes, contributing to a reduced carbon footprint for the aerospace components manufactured at BAC.
Aequs’ journey to excellence in aerospace manufacturing is characterized by its customer-centric approach and a relentless pursuit of quality and innovation. The collaboration with Airbus, recognized by the Airbus Innovation Award in 2016, exemplifies Aequs’ distinctive contribution to the aerospace industry.
