ADNOC has signed a multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gulf Group, Thailand’s energy and infrastructure conglomerate, to supply approximately 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Asian market from 2027. Under the agreement, ADNOC Trading will deliver the LNG over a multi-year period. The deal builds on the companies’ first LNG supply agreement, signed in 2025, and expands their cooperation as Gulf Group works to secure supplies to meet Thailand’s growing energy requirements.

Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, said the agreement would strengthen the company’s relationship with Gulf Group and support reliable energy supplies to Thailand and other Asian customers. He said the deal also expands the reach of ADNOC’s LNG marketing and trading platform, providing greater flexibility in meeting demand across international markets.

Sarath Ratanavadi, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Development Public Company Limited, said the agreement supports the group’s strategy of maintaining a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio. He said Gulf Group was strengthening its position across the value chain through investments in midstream infrastructure, shipping capacity and relationships with major suppliers.

The agreement comes as ADNOC expands its international LNG marketing and trading operations. In July 2026, the company launched a global LNG marketing and trading platform at Abu Dhabi Global Market, bringing its commercial capabilities together under one integrated structure. The platform is designed to provide greater flexibility in cargo delivery and shipping arrangements while improving access for customers in international markets.

ADNOC is targeting marketable LNG capacity of 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) beyond 2030. The planned expansion is expected to increase the scale and diversity of its LNG portfolio and strengthen its ability to serve customers across key markets. ADNOC Trading remains the counterparty for the company’s LNG trading activities. In the four years since its establishment, it has developed a substantial third-party LNG portfolio and is ranked among the leading global LNG financial traders. The business operates from Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Geneva.

The agreement with Gulf Group forms part of ADNOC’s wider efforts to expand its LNG business and strengthen supply relationships across Asia, where demand for gas continues to shape energy procurement strategies. ADNOC Gas plc is a leading, fully integrated gas processing and marketing company listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX: ADNOCGAS, ISIN: AEE01195A234). Operating across the entire gas value chain — from feedstock supply and processing to product sales — ADNOC Gas provides approximately 60% of the UAE’s domestic gas requirements and serves customers in more than 20 international markets.
