Aditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt Ltd (ABMCPL), the apex management arm of the Aditya Birla Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) to advance energy efficiency initiatives across the group’s extensive manufacturing network. EESL, in a statement on Monday, confirmed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ABMCPL to implement efficiency-enhancing measures.
With more than 130 manufacturing facilities and an annual energy consumption of 17.9 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE), the Aditya Birla Group has pledged to achieve Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. The partnership will focus on accelerating adoption of industrial energy efficiency solutions and clean energy technologies. Key areas of work include technical feasibility assessments, pilot projects, capacity building, and deployment of advanced systems for industrial utilities, waste heat recovery, and automation.
EESL will support Aditya Birla Group in designing energy-saving strategies through diagnostic studies at selected plants and in identifying group-level opportunities for energy reduction. These initiatives will be facilitated with technical expertise from the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) and backed by funding from the GEF-6 project under UNEP Technical Assistance. The collaboration underscores the joint commitment of Aditya Birla Group and EESL to cut greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable industrial practices across India’s manufacturing sector.
