Adani Skills & Education (ASE), the Adani Group’s capability-building and skilling arm, and Kachchh University have launched a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Green Energy at the university campus in Bhuj. The centre will provide industry-linked training in renewable energy technologies and prepare students for jobs across the green energy value chain.

The facility was inaugurated by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat. It will train more than 10,000 Kachchh University students each year through specialised programmes covering Solar PV Technologies, Wind Energy Systems, Hybrid Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Digital & Industrial Automation.

The initiative comes as demand for trained manpower increases across Kutch. Adani’s green energy activities have generated more than 21,000 direct and indirect jobs in the district over the past two years, creating demand for skilled professionals to build, operate and maintain renewable energy infrastructure.

Karan Adani, Director, Adani Group, said the Centre of Excellence would equip students with skills for current employment as well as emerging opportunities in India’s growing green energy sector. Robin Bhowmik, Chief Executive Officer, Adani Skills & Education, said the partnership would bring industry requirements into the classroom and provide students with practical exposure to renewable energy technologies.

The CoE will follow a structured Learn, Practise, Experience, Certify and Career pathway. The programme will combine classroom instruction, simulations and practical training. Students will receive training in solar PV systems, wind energy, renewable energy integration, BESS, microgrids and digital technologies.

The digital curriculum will include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Internet of Things (IoT)-based energy data applications and smart-grid technologies. The centre will also support applied research and entrepreneurship, enabling students to work on solutions related to renewable energy and energy storage.

India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030 is expected to increase demand for skilled manpower across renewable energy projects and related industries. Kutch has emerged as an important renewable energy hub, with the Adani Group developing a 30 GW renewable energy park at Khavda spread across 538 sq km.

The scale of renewable energy development in the region is creating opportunities across solar, wind, energy storage, automation and digital technologies. The new Centre of Excellence is intended to connect students with these emerging opportunities and support employment closer to their home region.

The initiative forms part of ASE’s wider effort to build a talent pipeline for sectors supporting India’s economic and industrial growth. Through industry-led curriculum, practical exposure, research and entrepreneurship, the programme will seek to improve students’ readiness for employment in the renewable energy sector. Adani Skills & Education is the Adani Group’s capability-building arm focused on developing industry-ready talent. It works on skill development and education initiatives aimed at building a workforce for sectors critical to India’s future growth.
