Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), India’s largest renewable energy firm, has increased its total operational renewable capacity to 11,666.1 MW with the commissioning of a 57.2 MW wind power unit at Khavda, Gujarat. This milestone marks the addition of a critical component to AGEL’s wind-solar hybrid project, developed by its subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Forty Eight Limited. The plant’s commissioning was finalized on January 14, 2025, and power generation will commence on January 15.
AGEL’s renewable portfolio continues to grow steadily, underpinned by robust financial performance. For the quarter ending September 30, 2024, the company reported a 38.8% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹515 crore, compared to ₹371 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations climbed by 27.6% to ₹3,055 crore, driven by the expansion of renewable capacity and efficient project execution.
At the operational level, AGEL’s EBITDA grew 24.8% to ₹2,272 crore during the quarter, up from ₹1,821 crore in the corresponding period last year. While the EBITDA margin stood at 74.4%—lower than the 82% recorded in Q2 FY24—it reflects the company’s ongoing investments in scaling up its renewable energy projects.
Performance metrics across AGEL’s renewable portfolio demonstrate consistent efficiency. The solar portfolio achieved a capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 23.9%, with 99.4% plant availability. The wind segment recorded a CUF of 35.7%, supported by 95% plant availability, while the hybrid portfolio maintained a robust CUF of 42.9%, with 99.6% plant availability. These figures highlight AGEL’s focus on maximizing output and maintaining high operational standards across its renewable assets.
