Adani Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has secured a significant power transmission project in Gujarat. Announced on March 21, the project, valued at approximately ₹2,800 crore, is essential for supporting the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra, Gujarat. The project is set to be completed within 36 months.
Named the “Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat,” the project will involve upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with two large 765/400kV transformers. Additionally, a 75 km 765kV double-circuit line will be built to link the Navinal substation to the Bhuj substation.
The project will add 150 cKM of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL’s existing infrastructure, bringing its total to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA. This marks AESL’s sixth project order for the fiscal year, bringing its overall order book to around ₹57,561 crore.
The company secured the contract through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, with PFC Consulting Limited serving as the coordinator. The project’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) was officially transferred to AESL on March 20, 2025.
In addition to this project, AESL also confirmed the acquisition of 100% equity shares of Mundra I Transmission Limited (MITL) from PFCCL. This transaction was finalized through a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) on March 20, 2025, and MITL will support the Green Hydrogen and Ammonia initiatives in the Mundra region of Gujarat.
