Adani Defence & Aerospace has received the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) Champion Award 2026 for Export Performance in Defence and Aerospace. The award was presented at SIDM’s eighth annual session in New Delhi, recognising the company’s work in defence manufacturing and exports. The award was presented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Director General (Acquisition) A. Anbarasu. The annual awards recognised 15 achievements across technology development, product innovation, design, import substitution, manufacturing and exports.

Adani Defence & Aerospace manufactures small-calibre ammunition for defence and law enforcement customers in international markets. Its ammunition manufacturing complex in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has an annual production capacity of 300 million rounds and produces ammunition conforming to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) standards.

The facility supports India’s domestic defence manufacturing efforts under the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The company said its export operations are supported by investments in manufacturing infrastructure, production technology and testing capabilities.

Ashish Rajvanshi, Chief Executive Officer of Adani Defence & Aerospace, said the recognition reflected the company’s efforts to strengthen India’s defence manufacturing capabilities. He said the company would continue to focus on manufacturing high-quality products in India for customers in global markets and investing in technology to meet changing defence and security requirements.

The latest award follows a separate SIDM Champion Award presented to the company’s Kanpur Ammunition Complex in 2025 for design, manufacturing and testing excellence. The Kanpur facility uses automated production systems, artificial intelligence-enabled quality inspection, real-time data analytics and digital monitoring across manufacturing operations. Its digital shopfloor is designed to eliminate manual handling of hazardous materials. The company also uses digital systems to maintain traceability throughout the manufacturing process and support production security.

The complex includes a ballistics testing range equipped with an Electronic Pressure, Velocity and Action Time (EPVAT) system. The range is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), India’s accreditation body for testing and calibration laboratories.

The recognition comes as India’s defence exports continue to expand. According to government figures cited in the announcement, defence exports reached a record ₹38,424 crore in FY2025-26, an increase of 62.66% over the previous financial year. The government has set a target of ₹50,000 crore in annual defence exports by 2029. Adani Defence & Aerospace said its manufacturing and testing capabilities would continue to support its efforts to serve international defence and security markets while expanding India’s domestic production base.
