Acronis and Intel Join Forces to Deliver High-Performance, AI-Powered Endpoint Threat Detection

Manufacturing-News

Acronis, a global provider of cybersecurity and data protection solutions, has partnered with Intel to enhance threat detection capabilities on endpoint devices. This collaboration introduces the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform to AI PCs powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, enabling advanced threat identification and remediation without sacrificing system performance.

By combining Acronis’ cloud-based cybersecurity platform with Intel’s hardware-accelerated AI capabilities, managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), and enterprises gain access to faster, more resource-efficient protection — ideal for today’s demanding and distributed IT environments.

The Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform applies AI to analyze behavior patterns at the endpoint level, identifying and neutralizing complex threats such as ransomware, zero-day exploits, and fileless malware. When deployed on Intel Core Ultra-based systems, the solution uses OpenVINO™ to shift intensive AI processing tasks — like behavioral heuristics and anomaly detection — from the CPU to the processor’s neural processing unit (NPU). This offloading can reduce CPU load by up to 92%, according to internal performance tests, resulting in improved system responsiveness and longer battery life.

The platform offers a unified approach to cyber defense, combining next-generation antimalware, email security, data loss prevention (DLP), and endpoint and extended detection and response (EDR/XDR) in a single SaaS-based solution. Its native integration of cybersecurity, endpoint management, backup, and disaster recovery reduces operational complexity and streamlines IT workflows. It also supports alignment with NIST cybersecurity guidelines, enabling users to detect, respond, and recover from threats effectively.

“Cybersecurity must be integrated and AI-enabled to meet the demands of modern threat landscapes,” said Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis. “This collaboration allows IT teams to deploy real-time protection at the endpoint with minimal performance impact — helping safeguard productivity while simplifying security management.”

Carla Rodríguez, Vice President and General Manager of Client Software Enabling at Intel, added: “Together with Acronis, we are bringing powerful AI-driven security directly to the device. Running complex tasks on Intel Core Ultra processors allows partners to deliver enhanced protection with better performance, lower latency, and improved privacy.”

Traditional cybersecurity tools often fail to keep up with evolving threats and can significantly degrade system performance. Fragmented solutions only add to the burden on IT departments. The integrated approach from Acronis, combined with Intel’s processing power, offers a streamlined and more efficient alternative.

Founded in 2003 in Singapore and headquartered in Switzerland, Acronis delivers cybersecurity, data protection, and endpoint management solutions tailored for MSPs, SMBs, and enterprises. With presence in over 50 countries and solutions available in 26 languages across 150 countries, Acronis is trusted by more than 21,000 service providers protecting over 750,000 businesses worldwide.
