The highly anticipated ACREX India kicked off at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi – NCR. This event, organized by ISHRAE in collaboration with Informa Markets in India, offered a platform for both local and international manufacturers to engage with government officials and industry leaders, facilitating the realization of their business objectives aimed at the projected market size of $30 billion by 2030.

With a record-breaking attendance of over 30,000 visitors and participation from more than 500 exhibitors representing over 40 countries, this year’s edition was a testament to the global significance and impact of the HVAC industry. The grand opening event was graced by several distinguished guests, such as Sushil Chodhury, Chair of ACREX India 2024; Yogesh Thakkar, National President of ISHRAE; Anoop Ballaney, President Elect of ISHRAE.

This year’s expo features the Startup Pavilion, Innovation Zone, Demo Zone, B2B Meetings, Seminar & Workshops, Launch Pad, Solution Centre, and Idea Presentation. Day 2 and Day 3 will include sessions and round table discussions on topics such as skill gaps in the HVAC industry and the transformation of HVAC technologies for the Infrastructure and Building Sectors. Anoop Ballaney, the President Elect of ISHRAE, highlighted the society’s commitment to knowledge sharing and education in the built environment sector. ISHRAE, with a history of 43 years, focuses on engaging students, women, and K-12 learners. Their mission goes beyond HVAC, aiming to uplift the entire industry through collaboration with governments, industry leaders, and partner societies.

Sanjay Sharma, Marketing Director at Carrier India, highlighted the industry’s growth, noting the rapid urbanization, new building developments, and a thriving manufacturing sector in India’s HVAC landscape. He pointed out that projections suggest a rise in the number of Indian cities with over one million inhabitants, from 42 to 68 by 2030, which will drive the demand for HVAC systems.

Sharma emphasized that the government’s focus on self-reliance, through initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat, further boosts this growth. To thrive in this changing market, HVAC companies must adopt strategic approaches and innovation. Carrier recognizes the importance of establishing a strong manufacturing ecosystem for commercial air conditioning solutions to meet these evolving demands.

Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss Industries, stressed the importance of a greener and more sustainable future. He highlighted their commitment to sustainability through the use of renewable energy, particularly solar power. Their focus on energy efficiency is evident in their products, which meet the highest standards set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

They actively promote the use of higher star-rated air conditioners to advance their mission. Furthermore, they are deeply engaged in water conservation and biodiversity efforts to ensure responsible resource management. With substantial government investments in infrastructure and solar panel installations, they are optimistic about the collective journey towards a greener, more sustainable future.

Arvind JA. Kumar, Assistant General Manager Marketing at ABS Fujitsu General India, believes that the industry is on the cusp of significant growth due to urbanization and the shift towards more energy-efficient appliances and environmentally friendly refrigerants. He predicts that by 2050, consumer preferences and regulatory changes will further boost the adoption of eco-friendly solutions.

At ACREX India 2024, the company is dedicated to showcasing innovative and sustainable HVAC solutions. By advancing energy-efficient technologies and collaborating with industry partners, they aim to promote sustainable practices and shape the future of the HVAC industry in India. The HVAC sector in India has experienced notable growth in recent years, with the market expected to increase by USD 3.98 billion, at a CAGR of 10.77% from 2023 to 2028.

This expansion is driven by several factors, including the growing demand for inverter HVAC systems, increased office space utilization, and a preference for rental HVAC solutions. The market’s upward trend is also supported by the construction of tall buildings, the growth of hypermarkets in Tier-II cities, and the development of shopping complexes and malls where HVAC systems are essential.
