ACME Solar Holdings has announced a major order exceeding 3.1 gigawatt-hours of battery energy storage systems (BESS), securing high-performance and scalable storage technology from Zhejiang Narada and Trina Energy. This large-scale procurement ranks among the most significant in India’s energy storage sector and will support the rollout of BESS across ACME’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) and hybrid projects, which are set to go live over the next 12 to 18 months across several Indian states.
According to the company, the deliveries will be executed in stages over the next four to eight months during the current financial year. The total investment in these systems remains within the planned budget, enabling cost-efficient deployment while ensuring technical excellence and dependable supply.
Early placement of the order is also expected to fast-track implementation timelines and allow for quicker revenue generation from the projects. The battery storage units comply with top-tier international standards, including IEC and UL certifications, providing high levels of safety, reliability, and operational performance. This strategic move highlights ACME Solar’s focus on expanding clean energy infrastructure while strengthening grid reliability in key growth regions across the country.
ACME Solar, a prominent player in India’s green energy sector, currently manages a diversified portfolio of 6,970 MW and 550 MWh, covering solar, wind, storage, FDRE, and hybrid configurations. Out of this, 2,890 MW is already operational, with the remaining 4,080 MW under development.
