ACME Solar Holdings Ltd announced on that it has successfully secured a 250 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project in an e-reverse auction held by NHPC at a tariff of ₹4.56 per unit. The project also includes a greenshoe option, which could expand its capacity from 250 MW to 500 MW. Following this latest win, ACME Solar’s total capacity now stands at 6,970 MW.
The auction titled ‘Supply of 1200 MW FDRE (Assured Peak Power Supply) from ISTS-Connected Renewable Energy Power Projects Coupled with ESS (Tranche VI)’ seeks to procure 1,200 MW of renewable energy integrated with energy storage systems (ESS) across India. This project will provide a four-hour peak power supply, incorporating a mix of solar, wind, and battery technologies to ensure a stable and reliable energy supply during peak demand periods.
Nikhil Dhingra, CEO of ACME Solar Holdings, commented on the achievement, stating, “This win elevates our overall portfolio to 7 GW and represents a committed long-term power supply with NHPC totaling 930 MW. Out of this, our existing 680 MW, four-hour peak FDRE capacity with NHPC is expected to soon convert into a PPA, following NHPC’s recent 1280 MW PSA with Uttar Pradesh.”
