Achilles, a global leader in supply chain risk and performance management, has launched Achilles Action Plans, a new module designed to help procurement and supply chain teams turn verified supplier findings into targeted and trackable improvement actions. The new capability enables buying organisations to move beyond identifying supplier risks and establish a structured process for addressing them. Once a weakness, risk or performance issue has been identified through supplier assurance activities, organisations can use Action Plans to define remediation requirements, communicate expectations to suppliers and track progress through to completion.

The module can be used across a broad range of supplier risk areas, including health and safety, sustainability, compliance, financial risk, cybersecurity, insurance and other areas of supplier performance and assurance. Each plan can be tailored to the supplier, the nature and severity of the issue, and the buying organisation’s risk appetite, policies and industry requirements.

Buyers can define the improvements required, establish specific actions and timescales, monitor progress and review evidence submitted by suppliers. This creates a documented trail from the initial finding through to remediation, providing procurement and supply chain teams with greater visibility of how identified issues are being addressed.

For suppliers, Action Plans provides greater clarity around required improvements and customer expectations. Suppliers can respond directly to requested actions, raise questions, identify practical considerations, agree next steps and submit evidence of progress. The approach is intended to support a more transparent and constructive remediation process while enabling buyers to retain appropriate oversight.

“Identifying supplier risk is important, but the real value comes from what you do with that insight,” said Mark Chamberlain, Chief Product Officer at Achilles. “Action Plans helps organisations close the gap between identifying an issue and addressing it. Buyers can set clear expectations, suppliers can demonstrate the action they have taken, and both have visibility of progress. It turns supplier assurance from a point-in-time assessment into a practical process for reducing risk and improving performance.”

Achilles Action Plans is now available to buying organisations as an addition to their Achilles subscription. Supplier access is enabled automatically when a buyer creates an Action Plan, with no additional cost to the supplier. For more than 35 years, Achilles has supported organisations in managing supply chain transparency, carbon reduction and risk. The company works with global brands and financial, industrial, commercial and governmental organisations on supply chain resilience, ESG, carbon management, health and safety and supplier risk. Operating from 22 locations worldwide, Achilles provides detailed analysis and expert insight to support supplier selection, risk management, compliance and sustainability objectives.
