Four years after its global unveiling, IT and technology solutions giant Acer Group has introduced its consumer electronics brand Acerpure to the Indian market. The announcement was made at a launch event in Bengaluru, where Acerpure’s flagship product for India, a 65-inch television promising an immersive viewing experience, was unveiled.
Andrew Hou, President of Pan-Asia Pacific Operations at Acer Group, explained the delay in the brand’s Indian debut. “It took time because India is an important market and required special strategy,” he said. The entry strategy centered around creating a manufacturing ecosystem in India, according to Acer India’s President and Managing Director, Harish Kohli.
“Through our collaboration with Indian company Dixon Technologies, we are poised to usher in a wave of locally manufactured products. This partnership embodies our shared vision of fostering economic growth and technological advancement within the nation,” Kohli said.
The event also saw the formalization of the partnership between Acer and Dixon Technologies. Dixon Technologies Co-founder and Executive Chairman Sunil Vachani and Acer India President and MD Harish Kohli signed the partnership deal, emphasizing the joint goal of manufacturing premium consumer products for both domestic and international markets.
Besides the newly launched television, Acerpure’s global portfolio includes a variety of consumer electronics such as air-circulator fans, water purifiers, hand-held vacuum cleaners, robotic vacuum cleaners, and hair dryers and stylers. “The range of products is well received in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines,” noted Hou.
Acerpure India Director Vasudeva G highlighted the brand’s approach to the Indian market, focusing on affordability without compromising on cutting-edge technology. “For instance, our ‘air circulator’ fans are AI-enabled and can adjust their speed according to changes in air temperature,” he said, with prices starting at Rs 7,490 in India. Hou further remarked, “Acerpure represents more than just a product launch, it signifies the dawn of a new era in home appliances and consumer electronics with a key focus on ‘Make in India’.”
The strategic entry of Acerpure into the Indian market signifies Acer Group’s commitment to expanding its footprint in a key region, leveraging local manufacturing to deliver high-quality, innovative products to Indian consumers.
