Accenture has acquired Cientra, a silicon design and engineering services company. Cientra provides custom silicon solutions for global clients, enhancing Accenture’s capabilities in this area. This acquisition follows Accenture’s recent purchase of Excelmax Technologies.
Karthik Narain, Accenture’s group chief executive of technology, highlighted the increasing demand for next-generation silicon products due to data center expansion, cloud computing, wireless technologies, edge computing, and AI. He stated that acquiring Cientra will help Accenture’s clients maximize value and innovate in the silicon design space.
Founded in 2015, Cientra is based in the US and has offices in Germany and India. The company specializes in embedded IoT and application-specific integrated circuit design and verification. This expertise will bolster Accenture’s ability to drive semiconductor innovation.
Cientra brings about 530 engineers to Accenture’s Advanced Technology Centers in India. CEO Anil Kempanna emphasized Cientra’s commitment to talent development and continuous innovation. Accenture did not disclose the acquisition terms. This move follows their 2022 acquisition of XtremeEDA, a silicon design services company based in Ottawa, Canada.
